Barajas airport is located 13 kilometres to the North-West of the city on the trunk road A-2 that connects Madrid with Barcelona.
Barajas has currently got four terminals where aeroplanes from different companies arrive from and depart to national and international destinations (Information telephone numbers: 902 35 35 70 - 91 305 83 43 - 91 305 83 45 - www.aena.es )
There are many ways of travelling between Barajas Airport and Madrid: by underground, bus, taxi or car.
HOW TO GET TO MADRID BY UNDERGROUND
If your flight arrives at TERMINAL 4You can catch the underground on Floor -1 of Terminal T4.
The underground line is Line 8, and once you get to Nuevos Ministerios station you will be able to access a commuter that connects with fifty underground stations through lines 6 (circular), 8 (Nuevos Ministerios-Barajas) and 10 (Fuencarral-Puerta del Sur) that will allow you to anywhere in Madrid.
It takes about 20 minutes to get from Nuevos Ministerios to the airport's Terminal T4. Any underground ticket is valid to get to Terminal T2 but to get to Terminal T4 you will have to pay an extra charge of approximately 1 euro, which will be paid when you arrive at the station.

If your flight arrives at TERMINAL 1,2 or 3You can catch the underground at Terminal T2. Therefore if your flight arrives at Terminals 1 or 3, you will have to first go to Terminal 2. In Terminal 2, the underground entrance is located in the corridor that connects the Terminal with car park P2, right in the middle of the Terminal.
Line 8: Nuevos Ministerios-Barajas. Once you arrive at Nuevos Ministerios station you will be able to access a commuter that connects with fifty underground stations through lines 6 (circular), 8 (Nuevos Ministerios-Barajas) and 10 (Fuencarral-Puerta del Sur) that will allow you go anywhere in Madrid.

The commuter connects with 10 EMT bus lines: line 7 (Plaza de Alonso Martínez-Manoteras), 14 (Avenida del Mediterráneo-Chamartín), 27 (Glorieta de Embajadores-Plaza de Castilla), 40 (Red San Luís-Alfonso XIII), 147 (Plaza de Callao-Barrio del Pilar), 149 (Red San Luís-Plaza de Castilla), 150 (Puerta del Sol-Virgen del Cortijo) and Circular line.
HOT TO GET TO MADRID BY TAXI
A taxi from the airport to the centre of Madrid will cost you approximately 25 euros.
To catch a taxi you must:
Go to a taxi stand, ignore all those people who offer their services inside the terminals and make sure that the taxi driver resets the taximeter when you begin your journey. A taxi from the airport to the centre of Madrid will cost you approximately 20 euros.

Guide-dogs travel free of charge as well as all other pets on board licensed vehicles. Luggage is also free as long as it fits in the boot or on the roof rack.
Airport Shuttle Services:
There is an airport shuttle service called AresMobile/AeroCity Services (www.aresmobile.com) in order to travel from door to door in a cheap and efficient way from your hotel or house to the Barajas Airport. The company has two desks, one in Terminal T1 and another one in Terminal T2. It also offers car rental with driver for short journeys and all sorts of services.

Barajas Airport is connected with Madrid by the city's main access and by-pass roads.
From the M-40:Junction 9. Access to from the Airport (T1, T2, T3 and T4) via the A-2.
From the A-2:
Junction 12. Via the M14 (T1, T2 and T3) and the M13 (T4).
From the M-40 South:Junction 8. M12 toll area through the tunnel (T4).
From the M-11:End of M-11. Via the M14 (T1, T2 and T3) and the M13 (T4).
From the M-11:Junction 7. M-12 toll area (T-4)
From the M-40 North:Junction 2a on the R2 and M12 Airport

There are seven public car parks: car parks P1, P2 and P4 (located in terminals T1, T2/T3 and T4 respectively); the express car park for short stays (T2): the VIP car park for T1, T2 and T3 , the VIP car park for T4 and a car park for long stays.
