Title: A centre of Latin-American culture
Commentary: The Casa de América was founded as one of the projects to commemorate the Five Hundredth Anniversary of the Discovery of America, and it was opened in 1992 on the occasion of Madrid?s European cultural capital status and the holding of the Second Ibero-American Summit, held by His Majesty the King and the heads of state and government that attended the Summit.

Its aim to unite the Latin-American people of both sides of the Atlantic Ocean can be achieved by converting itself into a multi-cultural centre.

Nowadays it is one of the most important cultural centres in Madrid. It has a very important documentary collection (video archives, audio archives and a library)
Zone: It is located on the Paseo de Recoletos
